LEAGUE RULES
|
1
|
Meetings will normally be held monthly on the first Thursday
every month, commencing at 8.30 pm.
Monthly subscription - £15. Failure to attend will result
in an additional £10 fine.
|
2
|
One member of the home team
will referee the first game. Referees will be nominated alternately from the
two teams for the seven games played.
|
3
|
The referee of each game
will toss a coin to determine which player has the choice of the breaking or
nominating his/her opponent.
|
4
|
All players must sign the
Match Cards in their usual signature before each game.
|
5
|
The
Winning Team must bring the match card to the next meeting.
The
match scores (and gallon results) are needed as soon as possible (in the
interest of publishing the league tables quickly), so the results should be Telephoned or Texted to 07980 639 602
on the night of the match.
This
would normally be the winning team but results welcome from either side. (NO
RESULTS means NO LEAGUE TABLES)
|
6
|
Any disputes will be heard
by the Committee at the monthly meetings.
|
7
|
Scoring - 2 Points for each
match won.
|
8
|
Games to commence at 8.30 pm. If
a player from each side is not available to start the first game then the
offending side will forfeit the first game and each game thereafter at 15
minute intervals.
|
9
|
Directly after the referee
has tossed a coin to determine the break he will announce the time. This may
be from his watch or a clock in the room. If after 20 minutes the game is NOT
FINISHED then he will call on the Captain of the opposing side (from the
referee) to time all succeeding shots which must be played in less than one
minute or the shot will be deemed a foul. Timing of each shot starts when the
balls have come to a standstill. (The person timing the shots should indicate
when 30 seconds have elapsed.)
|
10
|
If the referee (who may be
prompted by either of the two Captains) decides that a game is not
progressing then he will have the power to restart the game. At this point it
will be deemed that 20 minutes have elapsed and the timed ‘one minute per
shot’ will apply.
|
11
|
Both Captains to nominate players in each game.
The home Captain nominates first player in each of the seven games.
|
12
|
Team registration - £15 at
A.G.M.
|
13
|
Sign on fee - £2 per
player. Players will only be able to sign on at the monthly meetings and will
only be eligible to play AFTER the meeting in which they have signed on
except for the period up to the first meeting when players can sign on at any
time but must be paid for at the first meeting. A team who plays an unregistered player will lose that match. All points will go to the opponents.
|
14
|
All Players must be aged 16 or over.
|
15
|
Teams can sign on as many
Interleague/Town Team/County players as they like BUT ONLY THREE will be allowed to play on any one match night,
which includes the gallon.
|
16
|
Player sign on sheets are
required to show which players are Interleague/Town
Team/County players so that it can be checked the ‘three only’ rule is not
abused.
|
17
|
In the event of a team
dropping out, all points will be expunged and all further games null and
void. Should this occur later than halfway through the season then only the
results up to the halfway point will count for the opposing teams.
|
18
|
If at the end of a season,
teams finish with the same number of points, then the team with the most
matches won shall be deemed the winners.
|
19
|
In a situation whereby a team
cannot keep a fixture date, they must inform their opponents at least seven days prior to the fixture date,
failure to do so may result in forfeiture of points or results. The
rearranged fixture must be played within 28 days of the original date and
before the final fixture of the season. If teams cannot agree a suitable
alternative date for a match then the Pool League Committee will intervene
and either fix a date or decide which team shall be awarded the points.
|
20
|
If any team fails to fulfil
an 'away' fixture, without the required seven days notice, they will be fined
£10. This money will be given to the 'home' team to pay for the supper which
was prepared for the teams.
